Hi! My name is Janna.
I am a photographer and an artist. Primarily, my work focuses on storytelling and exploring personal experiences through imagery and poetry. While I enjoy the flexibility of digital photography and the cleanness of computerized text, what I love best is using handwritten text and working in black and white film. The slow process, emotion, and physicality of those mediums is what draws me back to them again and again.
I live in sunny Los Angeles, California. I graduated with a BFA in Photography and Design from Biola University and completed an artist residency in Tétouan, Morocco. Currently, I am a portrait photographer, private photography tutor, and Studio Manager at an after-school art program. I love drinking tea, riding my bike, baking (and eating) anything to satisfy my sweet tooth, snuggling up with a good book (especially anything by J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis), and having deep conversations with dear friends. If you’re interested in what I do, drop me a line and let’s chat! I look forward to working with you.
